Arnold Lumber Company is proud to help our communities become vibrant places to live, work, and play. As an industry leader, our community involvement is multifaceted, drawing on the unique talents of our employees as well as the resources of our business. Through community giving, in-kind donations, partnerships and volunteering, we demonstrate our commitment to programs that address our youths, our State and communities.

Rhode Island Blood Center

At Arnold Lumber, giving back means more than donating time or resources—it means giving the gift of life. In partnership with the Rhode Island Blood Center, we proudly host regular blood drives across our locations, inviting both employees and community members to roll up their sleeves and make a life-saving difference.

Every donation helps provide critical blood products to hospitals throughout Rhode Island and Southern New England, giving patients a second chance and families more time together. These events are a reminder of the strength we have when we come together as a community—one pint at a time.

Our Youth in the Community

At Arnold Lumber Company, giving back to our community starts with supporting the next generation. We’re proud to play a role in enriching the lives of local youth by donating materials to schools, sponsoring youth sports teams, backing local Eagle and Cub Scout programs, and helping with school and art projects across Southern New England.

Whether it’s helping students build a set for a school play or cheering on a little league team we’ve sponsored, we believe in empowering young minds and encouraging creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

To the right is a photo from one of our recent school partnerships, where we donated lumber to the students of Mt. Hope High School for their theater production. They transformed raw materials into a stunning castle set—and we couldn’t be more proud of their craftsmanship and vision!

YouthBuild Providence | Build-A-Bed

"Dear Arnold Lumber:

Thank you for your generous donation of lumber needed for YouthBuild Providence's Build-A-Bed event. Your donation will most definitely help to make the event a great success again this year.

Thanks to donors like you, we are closer to our goal of building 100 beds for children below the age of 12 in Providence who would otherwise not have a bed to call their own. As you know, along with the beds we are providing beddings, toys, bedtime reading books and a variety of other items to promote healthy sleeping rituals that would not only provide a good night's sleep to allow them to be ready and able to function in school but also bring families together by sharing precious moments at bedtime.

I especially appreciate your willingness to work closely with community-based organizations. We need more people like you.

Thank you once again for your support and we hope that our partnership on this event can continue for as long as YouthBuild Providence hosts Build-A-Bed."

Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's: Hot Wing Challenge

Each year, Arnold Lumber proudly partners with the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation to host our Annual Hot Wing Challenge—a fiery fundraiser with a whole lot of heart. This event brings together friends, families, coworkers, and community members for a night of fun, flavor, and fierce fundraising.

Ten brave contestants take on a lineup of increasingly spicy wings, each one hotter than the last, in a challenge that’s as entertaining as it is meaningful. Participation is earned through fundraising—either by being among the top donors or reaching a set contribution goal—which motivates our community to give generously for a powerful cause.

In 2024, this unforgettable event raised over $11,000 to support local breast cancer patients and their families. It’s a night filled with laughter, tears, and a whole lot of heat, but more importantly, it’s a reminder of how strong our community is when we come together.

Johnny Cake Center Toy Drive

The holiday season is all about giving—and at Arnold Lumber, we’ve made it a tradition to give back in the most magical way possible. Each year, we partner with Monsignor Clarke Elementary School for our Annual Toy Drive, collecting new toys, clothing, and gifts throughout November and December. All donations go to the Johnny Cake Center, which helps distribute these gifts to local families in need, ensuring every child can experience the joy of the season.

But we don’t stop at just collecting—we bring the Christmas spirit to life! One of our flatbed trucks is transformed into a festive sleigh for Santa and Mrs. Claus, who take their annual ride through Wakefield to visit the students of Monsignor Clarke. Arnold Lumber employees join the fun dressed as elves, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, and more, creating a magical holiday moment for everyone involved.

This special event not only supports local families, but also teaches children the joy of giving back—reinforcing that generosity, kindness, and community matter. And of course, for all their hard work, the kids get a visit from Santa himself to thank them for spreading cheer.

Wounded Warrior: Mist to Mews Kayak Race

Sun, water, and a whole lot of heart—every summer, Arnold Lumber proudly partners with the Wounded Warrior Project to host the Mist to Mews Kayak Race, a high-energy event with a powerful purpose.

The race kicks off at Ocean Mist and winds its way to the finish line at Mews Tavern, as racers take to the water in support of wounded veterans. With the road lined with cheering spectators, community members, and fellow supporters, this event is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of resilience, camaraderie, and giving back.

Arnold Lumber is honored to help organize, run, and compete in this unforgettable day. All proceeds go toward the Wounded Warrior Project, a foundation dedicated to empowering, supporting, and honoring those who’ve bravely served.
