September 2: 8 Hour Lead-Safe Remodeler/Renovator Course – 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., RIBA Headquarters, East Providence. Course is FREE for members with a $30 materials/registration fee, $110 for non-members with a $30 materials/registration fee.


September 3: 5-Hour CRLB Pre-Registration Course – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This course is required by the Rhode Island Contractors’ Registration and Licensing Board before a new registration. Cost: $250.


September 9: 4-Hour Lead-Safe Refresher Class – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. FREE for members, with a $30 materials charge. $75 for non-members, with a $30 materials charge.


September 16: 5-Hour CRLB Pre-Registration Course – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This course is required by the Rhode Island Contractors’ Registration and Licensing Board before a new registration. Cost: $250.


September 21: Healthy House Training – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 5 to 7 p.m. This class will educate professionals on healthy home practices and standards in Rhode Island. Cost: FREE. To register, contact Margarita Robledo: mrobledo@ghhi.org, (401) 400-8425.


*September 22: Deck Construction, the New Codes and Requirements – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 5 to 7  p.m. Deck codes have changed significantly in the past few years. Join instructor Michael R. Guertin of Michael R. Guertin Inc. to learn what the code requirements are and some proprietary systems that may make compliance simpler.


September 23: R.I. Residential Energy Code: HVAC and Indoor Air Quality – 1 to 4 p.m., RIBA headquarters. FREE National Grid program with Rob Sherwood of Conservation Services Group.


*September 30: Mold Awareness for Contractors – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 5 to 7 p.m. FREE for members, with a $10 materials charge. $45 for non-members, with a $10 materials charge.

*October 13: Advanced Framing – 5 to 7 p.m., RIBA Headquarters, East Providence. Class is FREE for members with a $10 materials/registration fee, $50 for non-members with a $10 Materials/registration fee.


October 14-15: OSHA 10-Hour Course – 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day at RIBA headquarters. Course is FREE for members with a $30 materials/registration fee, $125 for non-members with a $30 materials/registration fee.


October 19: 5-Hour CRLB Pre-Registration Course – RIBA headquarters, East Providence, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This course is required by the Rhode Island Contractors’ Registration and Licensing Board before a new registration. Cost: $250.
